In the community
AAM is deeply committed to rural and regional Australia with more than ~485 staff located at 31 regional sites across five states and territories.
We prioritise making a real and positive contribution to the communities in which we operate, while managing our assets in a way that will help to ensure they are cared for, for generations to come.
Some of our community initiatives include supporting local sports clubs, events and agricultural shows. We also make a significant social and financial contribution by bringing young people, families and experienced employees to the regions, bolstering the local economy, schools and other services, and diversity.
AAM also values and respects the legacy of farmers and families and works closely with vendors to ensure we are complementing the vision they held for their property or asset. As a business deeply entrenched in the Australian agriculture sector, it is important to us to acknowledge the contribution of others and to uphold our responsibility to be productive, efficient, and sustainable.
AAM also respects traditional landholders and their relationship with the land and understands managing and operating agricultural assets comes with the responsibility of acknowledging land is central to the identity and purpose of many indigenous people.
AAM recently commissioned a job-ready program to train local indigenous people at Legune Station in the Northern Territory, including engagement of a dedicated indigenous employment coordinator to oversee the program and locally-based mentors, with the goal of creating meaningful employment opportunities across the business’ northern land aggregations.
